David Torch is originally from Dennison, Ohio.
In 1999 he graduated from Claymont High School in Uhrichsville, OH and then went on to Mount Union University in Alliance, Ohio where he obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree in 2005. In 2012 he completed his Masters’ in Educational Leadership at Walden University. David started his music education career in 2005 as an Assistant Band Director at Weslaco High School in Weslaco, TX. In 2006 he was promoted to Head Band Director at B. Garza Middle School, in Weslaco, Texas. In the five years at Weslaco ISD he had back to back years of superior ratings with his concert and jazz bands and received Teacher of the year in 2010. In 2010 David accepted the position of Director of Bands at Banquete High School. During that time he transformed a program into back to back superior ratings at the concert level, and advanced to area in 2011. David held that position until 2013 when he accepted the Director of Bands position at Refugio High School. During his time there the band has grown tremendously, and receive superior ratings at the concert and marching contests and was also an area marching finalist. As well as establishing a jazz program at the school. In 2016, David moved to Boerne high school where he was Director of Bands for two years and help continue the tradition of superior ratings as well as help the band program grow with other activities. In 2018 David was offered the position at Jourdanton ISD as Director of Bands and has enjoyed his time at the school district and excited for what the future has to hold. David was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi where he was active in the choir and church band where he played drum set. He also performs in other various church choirs around Corpus Christi including First United Methodist Church. He currently is a member of the Heart Texas band in San Antonio. David is also a member of: ATPE, TMEA, ATSSB, TMAA and Kappa Kappa Psi. David currently resides in the Somerset area. |
Eryn O’Sullivan graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas in 2015. In her time there she studied clarinet privately under D’Addario artist Shaun Guzman. Outside of school, she was also a member of the San Antonio Youth Wind Ensemble for three years. She became principal clarinetist in 2015 and performed under guest conductor and composer Frank Ticheli. She is also a proud recipient of her school’s John Philip Sousa Award and Jim Souter Scholarship in 2015. In addition to this, she received the Ken Turner Music Scholarship, a state-wide music scholarship, the same year.
Eryn went to Texas State University in pursuit of her degree in Music Studies. In her time at Texas State University she was a member section leader, and principal player of many ensembles including; Bobcat Marching Band, Bobcat Basketball Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Symphony, Texas State Clarinet Choir, and Texas State Clarinet Chamber Ensembles. In her time there she studied under Dr. Vanguel Tangarov, principal clarinetist of the Austin Opera, Mid-Texas Symphony, and Victoria Symphony orchestras, as well as being the Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Texas State University. Additionally, she helped develop and run the first three years of the Texas State University's Clarinet Fiesta, an international clarinet event that hosts various professional, principal clarinetist from around the world every year. Eryn graduated from Texas State University with her Bachelor's in Music Studies, along with an EC-12 teaching certificate in May of 2019. Eryn is a member of the International Clarinet Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Music Educators Association. This is her third year teaching at Jourdanton Junior High/High School and she is very excited to be starting her career here! |
